Campus Center Game Room Reservation Guidelines

The Campus Center Game Room is a multiple-use recreation location in the Campus Center, with a variety of table, board and electronic games. Specifically, there are four XBOX 360 stations, one pool table, one ping pong table, four chess/checkers tables, one karaoke system and one flat panel LCD television. It is equipped with an audio system and in-ceiling speakers. It is carpeted and painted in IUPUI school colors of red, black, white and yellow.

There is a permanent game room staff office, located at the front of the room and enclosed in sheet rock and glass. The television and audio systems are controlled from the office. All game equipment is requested and checked out from the office.

Reservations for the game room must adhere to all Campus Center room reservation policies, in addition to the following:

Game Room Availability

The Game Room is available for reservations during the following days/times:

Monday – Friday: 5pm – 9pm (7pm in Summer and Breaks)
Saturday: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm (5pm in Summer and Breaks)
Sunday: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm (5pm in Summer and Breaks)

Game Room Pricing

As the Game Room was built and intended for use by all members of the IUPUI campus community, removing this option from the community for even a short period of time comes with a cost. As such, the cost to reserve and use the Game Room is based on the IUPUI Campus Center reservation rate schedule:

Category A - $10/hour

  • All registered student organizations recognized by Campus & Community Life.

Category B - $20/hour

  • University departments/offices meeting to conduct business directly related to their function, operations, or mission of the university.

Category C - $30/hour (must have an additional room reserved for same day/time)

  • Non-profit and non-university organizations sponsoring community service related events
  • Government agencies sponsoring non-profit educational or service-related events
  • School districts, including charter schools educational activities
  • Non-profit and university department hosting conferences and workshops which registration and entrance fees are charged
  • Non-profit organizations must provide a copy of their tax exempt certificate

Category D - $50/hour (must have an additional room reserved for same day/time)

  • Non-university clients and individuals without non-profit status
  • Employees of IUPUI hosting non-university related events (i.e. weddings, parties, etc.)

Reservations will be made in 1-hour units, up to 4 hours. Extended reservations (beyond 4 hours) will incur double hourly rates.

Game Room Scheduling

Game Room reservations must be made at least 10 days prior to the requested time – this is to provide time for administrative processing and public notice of exclusive game room use (the reserving party will not be named, unless otherwise requested). Each sponsoring group/organization may only reserve the game room 2 times per month.

Game Room reservations must specify which games are requested for use, so that proper equipment set up can be completed and checked prior to the start of the reservation.

Reservations for the game room are considered to for the exclusive use of the reserving party, unless otherwise noted on the reservation. Signage will be posted by Game Room staff near the start time of the reservation, but the party reserving the room will be responsible for access to the Game Room.

Groups wishing to decorate the Game Room must follow Campus Center guidelines, as well as:

  • no decorations can be attached to painted surfaces
  • adhesives (tape) cannot be used on carpeted surfaces
  • views into the game room via the game room office must not be obstructed or limited in any way
  • window paint is not permitted
Game Room Staff

Game Room staff will be present during any events as they are required to be on station during regular operating hours of the Campus Center. The staff has full authority to address behavior that is in violation of Game Room and Campus Center policy.

Appropriate Game Room Behavior

Use of the game room must follow all Game Room policies as posted in the Game Room, including, but not limited to:

  • The large game furniture (pool table, ping pong table, air hockey table and xbox cabinets) may not be moved from their original locations. The game tables, chairs, and stools may be moved within the Game Room. The game tables and chairs may be cleared only upon prior request at the time of reserving the game room.
  • Food and beverage may not be placed on game equipment (i.e., pool table, ping pong table, air hockey table, XBOX cabinets).
  • Game equipment must be checked out using Game Room Equipment Use agreement.
  • No leaning, sitting, or inappropriately using any piece of equipment.
      Exception: Pool you must have 1 foot on the ground at all times per pool rules
  • Do not place books, coats or other items on the gaming equipment; game tables excluded
  • You must have on shoes at all times
      Exception: Twister (no shoes, socks required)
  • If you are eating or drinking in the game room, please dispose of your trash and wipe off the table you used.
  • Return all food trays to the first floor Citizen's Common Food Court.
  • Include others when possible for multiple player video games when all carts are in use.
  • No vulgar language.
