Group Fitness

Campus Recreation will offer Group Fitness Classes this summer. All Group Fitness/Aerobic classes are included with your semester recreational fee you pay. Classes are 45-60 minutes in length and all equipment is provided. Please be sure to bring your IUPUI ID/Jag Tag for admittance and sign in before each class for attendance. There is no separate registration with the exception of the Noon-time Yoga classes. Check out our semester informal schedule for times and locations. Don't forget to check out our Wellness programs.

Aerobics

Aerobic classes emphasize cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, muscular strength, and coordination through body movement using music. Our classes last 45-55 minutes. Core fitness classes and step-aerobic classes are offered. There is no need to register for these classes, just show up and bring your Jag Tag ID (must have paid semester recreation fee). All equipment provided!

Fitness Walk

This program is offered the first 10 weeks of the fall semester and the second 8 weeks of the spring semester. All participants will have the opportunity to wear a pedometer during the 45-50 minute fitness walk. Fitness walking along with good nutrition helps increase energy, decrease stress and manage weight.

Pilates

Pilates is a series of non-impact exercises designed to develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness.

Tang Soo Do

Tang Soo Do is a self-defense martial art, for men and women, that is related to tae kwon do. Each class builds on previous class so a commitment to attend each class is needed, but an occasional miss is not critical. No special clothing required.

Yoga

The lunch time yoga series is a collaboration between HRA Work/Life, Campus Recreation and the IUPUI Student Wellness Coalition.

The main emphasis is on physical and mental conditioning through various postures, stretching, breathing and relaxation. Yoga increases flexibility, while building strength and stamina. Yoga improves posture, rejuvenates energy levels, relieves stress, reduces fatigue and diminishes chronic pain. Beginner and intermediate levels are available, although some advance poses will be taught.

*Registration available online, Natatorium Front Desk, or PE043. Please call (317) 274-2824 for more information.
