Where IMPACT is Made

Counseling & Psychological Services

A student's health plays an important role in success in the academic environment. Our campus offers many resources and opportunities for students to find assistance with health concerns.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers counseling services to address a wide variety of personal concerns. Services are provided in individual, relationship, and group formats.  An initial fee of $15 covers an intake assessment and up to six (6) individual counseling sessions.  (Additional fee information can be found by clicking here.) The professional staff team includes licensed psychologists, licensed mental health counselors, pre-doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows and graduate-student counselors in training.  Services are confidential, available to all IUPUI students, and available weekdays (9am - 4pm) and by appointment during evening hours.

CAPS is not operated as a crisis or emergency facility and does not provide 24-hour access. We suggest the following agencies be contacted for after hours situations:

Crisis and Suicide Phone Line – (317) 251-7575
Mid-Town Mental Health Center – (317) 630-8485
Emergency Walk-In Center, 1001 West 10th Street
BehaviorCorp– (317) 574-1252

Campus Crisis Resources

Faculty, staff, and student leaders are on the "front lines" working with students on a daily basis. It is these vital members of the IUPUI community that see the personal stresses and struggles that many of our students face. In fact, it is through faculty and staff that most students find their way to IUPUI CAPS. Faculty, staff, and student leaders are often the "first responders" to students in distress.
