Psychiatric Services
Medication management is often an important part of treatment for anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. IUPUI CAPS offers psychiatric services through contract with an independent licensed psychiatrist.
Psychiatric services are available only to currently enrolled IUPUI students. Students must have a referral prior to scheduling an appointment with the psychiatrist. This referral may be from an outside physician or from a member of the CAPS' counseling staff.
Fees for psychiatric services are $55 per intake and $40 for medication checks. Payments are to be made to the Front Desk Staff and are due at the time of service. Psychiatric services are not eligible for fee adjustments.
Due to the high demand and limited availability of psychiatric services at CAPS, beginning in the fall of 2011, students will be charged for missed appointments. Students will be charged full fees for missed appointments not cancelled at least 24-hours in advance. Fees not paid within 30-days will be billed to the student's University (bursar) account. Multiple missed appointments may result in termination of services. Fees for missed appointments may be appealed in writing, with appeals submitted to the Director for review and approval or denial.
