Greek Organization of the Month
Congratulations to our Greek Organization of the Month for April: Sigma Lambda Gamma (ΣΛΓ)!
Nominated by: Valencia Blair
Events Sigma Lambda Gamma has done considerable programming to represent our values of community service, morals & ethics, social interaction, academics, cultural awareness, and sisterhood. For community service we participated in the Cesar Chavez Day of Service, Race for the Cure and Invisible Children. We attended the Cesar Chavez and had a fine dinning event to help develop morals and ethics. We also held a game night with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. to increase social interaction with other Greek Letter Organizations, and held a session titled "Continuing Your Education" about graduate school applications to work on our value of academic achievement. For cultural awareness we held "Gospel Explosion" that presented traditional gospel, gospel rap, gospel poetry, and gospel dance. This month we also had a sisterhood dinner and a retreat with individuals from our national organization and chapter advisors and an informational about what it means to be Greek at IUPUI.
Nominees
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Nominated by: Andy Walsh
One Major value of Tau Kappa Epsilon is to be a major contributor in campus events. For the past month we have been to nearly every event. We have even helped set up for everything without asking for recognition. Also for brotherhood we greatly outnumbered any organization at the bowling event for campus. We have also gathered a few new rushies from it. We also continued our four year relationship with the CYO, Catholic Youth Organization, and set-up for the Firefighters convention. We helped set-up the bags that every fireman was handed and helped assemble things at the convention center.
Each Greek organization was founded upon a set of values that members pledge to uphold in their daily lives.
