Fraternity & Sorority Life Advisory Board

The Fraternity & Sorority Life Advisory Board provides advice to the Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life on policies, procedures and opportunities in the growth and maturation of the IUPUI fraternity and sorority community. The fraternity and sorority life staff will bring issues to the Advisory Board for discussion and recommendations; the members of the Advisory Board can also bring ideas, issues and suggestions to the board or meet with the Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life between meetings.

Membership

The Fraternity & Sorority Life Advisory Board consists of the following membership:

• President of the IUPUI Interfraternity Council or designee,
• President of the IUPUI National Pan-Hellenic Council or designee,
• President of the IUPUI Panhellenic Council or designee,
• IU Foundation Representative
• Two Staff Representatives
• Two Faculty Representatives
• Alumni Representatives:
  • IFC Alum (1)
  • NPHC Alum (1)
  • Panhellenic Alumnae (1)
• Ex-Officio: Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life and Graduate Assistant for Fraternity & Sorority Life

Board members serve a one-year term on an academic year rotation. The Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life will serve as an advisor to the board. An undergraduate student is elected as chair of the board annually at the April meeting for the upcoming academic year.

Meeting Schedule

The Fraternity & Sorority Life Advisory Board will meet four times a year with the option for additional meetings if requested by the chairperson or the Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life. The meetings will take place in September, November, February and April.

Committees

The Fraternity & Sorority Life Advisory Board and the Coordinator can create committees of the Advisory Board for special projects. The committee meetings will meet as necessary in between the regular scheduled full Advisory Board meetings.
