IUPUI is home to 18 recognized fraternities and sororities which fall under three governing councils. While many of our chapters are active and functioning on campus, some of our chapters are dormant meaning they are recognized by the University but are not presently active due to no undergraduate membership.

Founded in 1914 and chartered on the campus of IUPUI in 1995, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. works to promote brotherhood, scholarship and service through a motto of "Culture for Service and Service for Humanity." The Alpha Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma is located in the Great Lakes Region of the Fraternity and is the home chapter for students attending the following institutions: IUPUI, Butler University, DePauw University, University of Indianapolis, Marian University and Martin University.
Phi Delta Theta was founded at Miami University (OH) on December 28, 1848. Since then, Phi Delta Theta has grown to over 169 chapters and has initiated over 237,000 men. Phi Delt at IUPUI is in the process of establishing itself as a prestigious chapter within both the Greek community and Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity.
Phi Delta Theta was organized with three principle objectives: The cultivation of friendship among its members; the acquirement individually of a high degree of mental culture; and the attainment personally of a high standard of morality.
