Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities

Did you know that IUPUI is nationally recognized for our commitment to community involvement? Students who volunteer gain valuable skills, make new friends, and are more marketable to employers. As one of the best campuses in the country to be involved in community service, service learning, and civic engagement, there are numerous ways for students, faculty and staff to get connected to the Indianapolis our community.

Community Service

The Community Service Office, as part of the Center for Service and Learning and Office of Student Involvement serves to support and connect students, faculty and staff with volunteer projects in the Indianapolis community. Students, faculty, staff, and community partners are urged to contact our office for assistance in finding, planning or funding an educationally meaningful community service project.

Center for Service & Learning

The mission of the Center for Service and Learning (CSL) is to involve students, faculty, and staff in service activities that mutually benefit the campus and community.

In the 2009-2010 academic year the Community Service area of the Center for Service and Learning sponsored 43 events engaging over 2,614 students, faculty, staff and community members in 33,274 hours of service to over 150 community partners. Participation numbers show a 60% increase from 2008-2009. Thank you IUPUI Volunteers for making such a positive impact on your community!
