Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service

Monday, January 16, 2012
8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Campus Center 450
(Registration will be from 8:00 – 8:30 am)

IUPUI's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is an annual campus tradition. This event, organized by a group of student leaders, honors one of the greatest freedom activists of all time, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hundreds of IUPUI students, faculty, staff, and guests volunteer at community sites across Indianapolis as a way to honor Dr. King's commitment to service and to social justice.

Join the IUPUI community as we honor, not only Dr. King, but also the individuals who stood up for the rights of themselves and others around the country during the Civil Rights Movement. We will be honoring their commitment to service and social justice by serving with others to address important community issues. Come pay tribute to civil rights activists' legacy of tolerance, peace, and equality through an educational breakfast program and day of volunteering.

All IUPUI employees must receive permission from their supervisor to participate if the volunteer opportunity is during normal work hours.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN. Due to capacity, we will not be able to accept walk-ins for the day of the event.

All participants must register themselves for this event. If you are part of a team, "Team Leaders" and "Team Names" can be indicated on the form. If you have already registered and need to add, subtract, or correct your submissions, please email the Office of Community Service at commserv@iupui.edu, or call (317) 278-9651.

Individuals needing more information or auxiliary aids for communication or assistance for access or accommodation should contact Patty Mathison, Coordinator of the Office of Community Service at (317) 278-2504, or pmathiso@iupui.edu at least three days prior to the event.
